Today we discuss the prevalence of international players competing in American college tennis with guests Craig Bell and Dennis Emery.

Listen to internet radio with UR10s on Blog Talk Radio
Chuck Kriese interviews Mr. Craig Bell, Chuck Waldron and Coach Dennis Emery about Foreign Players in our college game. Craig Bell has written an in depth letter to Patrick McEnroe giving the statistics of how many foreign players are actually in all divisions of college tennis and the lopsided amount of opportunities that are going to players from other countries. Chuck Waldron is a highly respected Junior coach in South Carolina that has trained 103 local junior players into the college ranks before the influx of foreign players. He is strongly opinionated as those opportunities have dried up in the last 10 years. This is particularly difficult for hm to talk about as his home town of Clinton, SC has also lost hundreds of jobs to outsourcing at this same time. Formerly, Clinton was a hub for the textile industry, and the local college there, Presbyterian College, was known as a tennis power for years. Coach Dennis Emery, formerly retired from University of Kentucky, comes onto the show and gives a unique point of view that embraces the view of the other coaches but also brings up the other points of views for recruiting players as well.
